31st of December.
Well it’s the last day of what’s been a sensational 2017 .From mid March the surf has been consistently good here in Nemberala.
Today we’ve got sunny blue skies, zero wind and the surf is pumping.
T-Land is 4-5ft and running from the top of the point, through the pyramid and right through to inside mountain.
With not a sole in the lineup.
Boa is solid 5ft with bigger sets.
4 surfers in the lineup.
Suckies is probably 4-5ft.
I haven’t been up to check it, as Boa is so good right now I’m out there.

Very good surfing conditions this morning, with light south east wind.
T-Land is head high with bigger sets.
Boa is flawless head and a half, with plenty of barrels.
Suckimamas is head high.
Total amount of surfers in Nemberala at the moment is 8.
With a cyclone brewing the east coast should light up from Christmas day.

The wet season, looks like it’s arrived.
Hi humidity and sporadic rain showers are now the norm.
Light winds and some really fun glassy waves around.
Almost all resorts have now closed for the wet.
After a long dry season the island of Rote is now beautiful and green again.
Boa will be the pick of the surf spots over the next week with surf around head high forcasted.
Great for the lucky few surfers that are here ATM.

Here we are 11th of November and the wind is still blowing se and the swell is here.

Sukinamon 3-4ft
Very uncrowned at all surf spots now.
The land temperature is a constant 28-36 degrees, with the odd afternoon rain shower.
Water temperature is a balmy 28degrees.
The swell is forecast to stick around for a week or so, which will keep the few remaining surfers very happy.

As we move into October, the wind has been kind to all surfers here on the island.
T-Land continues to dish up some long lefts and the rights at Boa and Suckmamas have been breaking regularly.
More than likely we will begin to get west winds here and there, which will open up the door to start surfing Doo Island with its perfect right hand barrels.
Here’s hoping the roaring 40s continue the swell producing lows to keep sending swell towards Indo for the coming months.

September say good consistent swells, with variable winds as usual.

Island hoping, surfing and meeting the friendly locals was enjoyed by the groups that stayed at the villa.Heading into October we should see light winds and good swells continue for the foreseeable future.

Three weeks into September and all has been great here on the swell front.
Early morning windless conditions are the norm now, with many great sessions going down at Boa and Sukimamas.
T-Land has been super consistent throughout as usual.
Next week we should see a solid rise in swell forecast for the entire week, with light winds and good tides for all surf spots.
There’s a good possibility that the winds will be almost non existent at times and a slim chance of light onshore winds.
This will open the door to the late season spots such as Doo Island and a few other semi Secret spots that surround Nemberala.

September has as usual, has seen a change in the wind patterns here in Nemberala.
Mornings now are almost windless, which is great for those surfers who are here to surf Suckymamas and Boa.
This morning sees , Boa in the 5ft range as is Suckies.
With the swell more out of the south both these waves are cranking.
T-Land is looking the goods also with 4-5ft waves and the odd 6ft bombs.
Looking like a great day of waves.

After a run of solid swells over the past 3 months, the Indian Ocean refuses to stop sending playful swells to Rote Island.
Wave heights are around head high at T-Land today.
Boa has started to show good form in the early and latter parts of the day, for those that come to the island specifically to chase the great righthander.
As we move into September Boa will be on offer more often and for longer periods of the day , as the Tradewinds back off to nothing.
Weather wise it’s starting to warm up a little with most days now in the low thirties.
Water temp is as usual 28 degrees.
For the fishermen there has been some good activity in the early mornings for those chasing large Spanish mackerel and wahoo.
All in all it’s just another day in paradise on the island.
